Top Styling, Conditioning, and Moisturizing Products For Type 4 Natural Hair

I am not a product junkie, so this list won’t be too long. I find that one becomes a product junkie when she has not yet embraced her true natural texture, and is therefore always on the hunt for a product that will manipulate her hair into something it isn’t. Since I am all about my kinks, I rock with the same products pretty regularly

1Shampoo + Conditioner: Elevynn

This set will legit be the best $25 you’ll spend in your life. It’s all natural and all good. Trust me.

2Deep Conditioner: SheaMoisture SuperFruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Hair Masque.

It’s bomb. Period.

3Leave-In Conditioner: EDEN BodyWorks Coconut Shea All Natural Leave In Conditioner

This stuff is an amazing base product and provides incredible moisture/softness. I use it on myself and my son before applying heavier styling products.

4Detangler: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler

This product, for me, doubles as both a detangler and a styling product. A little bit goes a long way, but it’s amazing and when I use it for my twist outs it gives me great curl elongation.

You can watch me use it here:

5Styling Product: SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie

It’s just my go to. Can’t explain it, it just does what I need. If you want additional hold, just mix in a little bit of ecostyler gel.

6Styling Product: Cantu Moisturizing Twist & Lock Gel

For a Product with More Hold Try Cantu Twist And Lock Gel.

7Styling Tool: Denman Brush

If you don’t have one of these brushes, you don’t love yourself or your hair. It is the perfect tool for detangling and evenly distributing product. I can’t live without it.
